 For me the whole creative process, whether composing a mixed media collage, painting, building a piece from recycled beach debris or carving stone, involves music very directly. The interaction between the music, materials and me, is like a dance coming together in a final composition. Whilst most of my work is abstract or semi-abstract, there is often the suggestion of the real such as figures, trees, a view, an idea, but the music is always present, pulsing, quietly or energetically, adding shape, colour, mark and tempo.
