Sculpture

Stone carving for me is a process of discovery working directly on local ‘characterful’ boulders. With the original shape of the stone and an idea in mind, a journey of reciprocity ensues until the final work emerges, revealing the stories and shapes held within.

Working with metal requires a more systematic approach of design. However, being handmade unique one-of-a-kind sculptures, afford an opportunity for further creativity as curves and shapes reveal themselves during construction, so the outcome is never determined beforehand.
