Sophie’s work is focused on simplicity, joy and harmony. She captures the simple joys in her life by painting the essence of a scene or group of objects. Themes include seasonal fruit and flowers, collections of objects within the home, a morning spent at the beach or a stroll through a local Cornwall garden. Her paintings are primarily driven by colour with an emphasis on the power colour has to evoke positive emotions.
