I am an artist specialising in textile products, inspired from the flora and fauna of the beautiful countryside of Cornwall. Flowers have always played an important part within my work. I find drawing and painting them gives you that freedom of line and colour – no flower is ever the same.
I feel more at one with nature and it makes you appreciate our environment and where we live more, which is something that is so important nowadays. I try and incorporate flowers that are synonymous with Cornwall so there is a deeper connection in my work and has that personal touch.
I use a combination of traditional and digital techniques to create my work. I use original watercolour paintings that are then enhanced digitally to be able to effectively reproduce the designs across a multitude of products, whether that be fabric based products or paper based products. Machine embroidery is also used to add that extra tactile element. My products include: embroidered prints, fabric covered notebooks, tea towels, keyrings, tote bags, cards and more.
