Sue King

Glass, painting

Previously from London, I used to be an interior designer, before working in fused glass and running my own practice creating residential and public healthcare glass commisssons. I also ran after school art classes which I loved. Since moving to Looe in 2023, I work part time for a creative company, run an after school art club and also make fused glass. Reigniting my love for painting during lockdown, I have been developing my art practice, inspired by landscape, light and textural patterns. My work is expressive and evocative using acrylic, inks, pastels & mixed media. I love experimenting and capturing moments of feeling and atmosphere. I will have small fused glass items and paintings/cards for sale.

Studio information

Access is a bit challenging! No parking at venue or wheelchair access. Two access options. One is from the main Fore St in Looe , along Castle St then it’s a steep walk to the top of Eastcliff. Once you see benches, turn left and follow up the slope between two walls up past houses, look for sign showing Bryn-y-Mor on the wall. Follow on up and the steps around a yellow house, until you see our house with a small black gate

Alternatively, park on Bayview Rd/junction with Meadway (past the Barbican pub). Walk across the Wooldown field along the well trodden path. When you see the beacon/cannons head for there, and keep to the right following down a small slope. You’ll then see a roof which is ours. I will have bunting/signage up as you walk down and under a big fir tree, a few steps down into our garden and to my shed.
