Two long weekends of Open Studios :
24-26 MAY and 30 MAY-1 JUNE : 11am to 5pm daily

Sharon Bruster

Artist, printmaker and maker of photograms.

I am surrounded by the beautiful coastal landscape of North Cornwall. As I walk on the beach or coastpath, I look, photograph, gather and hold – pebbles, shells, bits of driftwood or seaweed seem to magically find their way back to the studio with me. These ‘tiny treasures’ and the places where sea meets land, are my ongoing inspiration.

As an inter-disciplinary artist, I work with different media and creative practices. Following what interests me, I make images about these things I love. Painting, printmaking and alternative process photography are the focus of my practice. I also actively seek out creative collaboration with other artists as a mechanism for extending my practice.

I studied at Newlyn School of Art over several years, completing two years of intensive professional practice development in June 2023.

I am co-founder of Prime Women Artists, a network for women artists across Cornwall with well over a hundred members.

Studio information

Elbow rooms is located next to the petrol station on Trecerus Industrial Estate on the way into Padstow. Turn off the A389 on the way into town, following the B3276 at the 'petrol' and 'Newquay' signs. Turn left into the industrial estate. The petrol station is immediately on your left and you will see Elbow Rooms (a large green building) right ahead.

On street parking.

We have a large downstairs area where works will be displayed and viewed. To access the studio there is a spiral staircase. If this is an issue I can easily bring work downstairs from the studio for you to view.
