As a textile artist living and working on the edge of Bodmin Moor Wendy draws inspiration from the surrounding flora and fauna, using Harris Tweed to create bags, wallets, book covers and other accessories.
Wendy sources Tweed directly from Outer Hebridean weavers to create products that are unique or limited editions. The design process starts with a sketch and creating a pattern, followed by building a picture with the introduction of colour and finishing with embroidery and appliqué detail.
Whilst Harris Tweed is traditionally muted, earthy tones, Wendy enjoys introducing bright, colourful weaves under her Pohutukawa label, a reminder of her time in New Zealand.
