An award winning artist living in Porthleven, Cornwall. Creating sculptures and drawings inspired by the natural world.
"I have always drawn. The activity of drawing excites me, the process of creating images on paper helps me to not only relax but also to formulate new ideas. This is how I start. These drawn moments feed into the different projects which might end up being an installation of paper birds, intricate embroidered mini-world sculptures or illuminated fish. These artworks explore the movement and transition in nature. The impact we have on our environment on the flora and fauna. The Silver Birch series speaks about a fragile landscape, the changes in the seasons, and the balance of nature. Installations of paper birds are of childhood memories of birds circling and the passage of time. Where have all the Sparrows gone?
Each bird is hand-sculpted from paper, sanded and polished. Everyday materials are transformed into objects of fascination.
I live in Porthleven, the most Southerly port of the UK, famous for spectacular storms. The landscape and seascape is vibrant, dramatic, and ever changing and so is the village. The harbour now more a haven for visitors than a shelter for the fishermen who sailed the boats the village was so famous for building.
Currently Artist In Residence at Kota Seafood Restaurant, Porthleven adorning the walls of the restaurant with the delights of what’s in season through painting and drawing.

When visiting my studio I do have a puppy who may come and say hello.
Porthleven is a stunning place to visit. The most southerly port in Great Britain. Known for its iconic clock tower and its beautiful harbour. There's plenty of places to eat with many award-winning restaurants, golden sand beaches, a busy harbour town with its wonderful Shipmarket- a perfect place to visit.
