I am a ceramic artist making figurative sculptures, in particular animals, birds and human heads.
I make strong hand-built pieces using stoneware crank clay, red iron-oxide and a limited palette of underglaze colours.
Some sculptures are purely figurative of animals and seabirds, others are more stylised pieces with complex patterning inspired by ancient Persian, Egyptian and African art.
