I am a potter working on a traditional Leach kick wheel in my studio in Carbis Bay, where each piece is crafted with care and intention. My work is deeply inspired by the rugged beauty of West Penwith’s landscape, from the textures of granite cliffs to the patterns found in windswept beaches and rolling waves. This connection to nature is reflected in my focus on tactile surfaces, intricate patterns, and earthy textures that invite touch and exploration.
I exhibit regularly at shows and art fairs throughout Cornwall, sharing my passion for handmade ceramics with a wide audience. Alongside my husband, I co-own Saltings Gallery in Lelant, a space dedicated to showcasing the artistry of local makers. A large selection of my pots can be found there, alongside his jewellery creations. My work is also proudly stocked in several galleries, including Penwith Gallery in St Ives, Inspire Makers in Falmouth, 45 Southside in Plymouth, and Beck Steps Gallery in Grasmere.
In addition to creating my own work, I offer pottery throwing experiences for 1 to 2 people at my home studio. These informal relaxed sessions provide the opportunity to work on both a traditional Leach kick wheel and an electric wheel, giving participants a hands-on introduction to the art of pottery in an inspiring and creative environment.
Once again, I am thrilled to be joining artist Caroline Marwood in her gorgeous gardens at Bowl Rock for this year's Open Studios event.
