My paintings combine various approaches and explore colour and the effects of light in different environments. I use the interaction, contrasts and textures of various media (water colour, acrylics, oils, gilding). The continuing exploration of different materials is an integral part of my practice.
I paint on different surfaces from prepared gesso ground, canvas and also on a range of papers. Transparency is generated with water colour and also the use of glazes to bring a layered depth to my work.
My paintings vary in size from small works to larger canvases and my constant inspiration is the Cornish and Greek landscapes.

Studio information
If coming through Carnyorth on the B3306 from Trewallard, you go past the green and Falmouth Place is the first turning on the left as you go around the bend. If coming from St. Just and Botallack you go past a painted green house on your right next to some larger houses, the Falmouth Place turning is after the bamboo hedge on your right. The studio is at the end of the terrace with access along a path. There will be a sign to show the way.

I teach water colour and gilding and offer workshops. The water colour and mixed media courses are held in the summer months as we paint en pleinair in the local area of West Penwith.
