Cornish Tiddlers

Polyfusion Soft Plastics

I have always used discarded items to make other worlds and realms. Inspired by landscapes and glorious wildlife around me, I stitch to embellish plastic polyfusion pieces. Carrier bags, sweet wrappers and soft plastics mainly feature in my work. My heating processes and sewing create multi-layered images. I enjoy recycling and repurposing materials into works of art, unrecognisable from their original form. Printing is another key technique. My pieces question environmental concerns as visual acknowledgement of microplastics within the seas.

Further information

'The originals are absolutely beautiful. I love that the work is recycled and such vibrant colours.' Nicky Harris

'Be sure to read the tags on the artwork in the Cornish Tiddlers!  I was immediately drawn to a "painting" of a fox...the attached tag explained that the fox was made from plastic bags from various everyday food items, melted and then stitched. How fascinating and how wonderful to be so creatively re-purposing waste.' Nancy Davies

'I was delighted with the "Blue Lobster" print I received by post from Cornish Tiddlers. It seems incredible to think it was produced from recycled plastic bags and wrappers and looked so lifelike with such brilliant colour use - such an original idea! My grandson was thrilled with it and it's now framed and on his bedroom wall.' Jenny Field
