As a child the deeper, colder water would scare me, still does i guess. Yet the clear , calm, warm water of the beach just meters away was so much fun back then and great walk around the estuary.

I've been drawing for as long as i can remember , painting especially with oils is relatively new to me but i so enjoy the textural qualities of impasto painting.I feel the knife gives a very expressive feel to my work,coastal scenes are rugged wild vistas and need that energy.

l have no formal training but do hold a foundation diploma and tutored the Hayle art society for a short while.

Really hope you enjoy Cornwall open studios 2025.

Studio information

Directions from Truro are:

A394 from Truro to Falmouth, Helston & Penzance. At Helston go on by-pass road (not to town centre) follow signs to Penzance and Lizard.

Various roundabouts, keep bearing left with open country to left side. After ‘Flambards’ and Sainsbury’s roundabout go straight over next roundabout onto A3083 towards Lizard, St Keverne and Mullion with Culdrose air base on the left. After Culdrose air base, you come to roundabout turn left onto B3293 towards St Keverne and Coverack. Continue down to Rosevear and up steep hill to roundabout at Mawgan (war memorial). Straight over (direction St Keverne); pass Garras Primary School on left. Continue through Garras and about 200m after unrestricted speed sign, turn right into country lane - there's a sign saying unsuitable for HGVs. Higher Bojorrow is the first property on the right. Drive past the house (Higher Bojorrow) - my workshop is through the next gate on the right.

Directions from St. Keverne:

A3083 towards Helston. Go past the Goonhilly Satellite Station. After approximately 1.5miles you will go around hairpin bends at Chygarkye Farm, after approximately 400m take the next left – the lane is obscured by trees. There is a mile marker opposite the lane on the right hand side and also a bright yellow telegraph pole stay on the left just before the turning. Drive past the house (Higher Bojorrow) - my workshop is through the next gate on the right.
