I draw my inspiration from the Cornish landscape and think of my work as poetic and sensual: visual conversations.
My work is a direct response to living on the coastline of rivers Lynher and Tamar in Cornwall. Sea, sky, tide, weather, vibrant light, space, colour and the messy work of oil paint form the essence of my paintings.
I am also entranced by the colours and shapes of gardens and countryside.
The borders of places and objects attract me and I would say the way I work reflects a space between realistic capture of the real world and an abstract way of allowing imagination to take over and express a passion for those feelings that lie beneath...
