My paintings come from noting, investigating, celebrating commonplace miracles all around me in nature: from a bird's purity of motion in flight to the overflowing generosity of fruiting brambles. I share Cornwall, my home, with an unceasing flow of birds, creatures, windblown trees, rivers and habitats whose lives are preciously interwoven with my own, enriching mine beyond measure. I sketch and draw outdoors, often barefoot, as a prelude to completing paintings back in the studio. Visit my website to book a place on my two-hour Wild Woodland Drawing Workshop on Thursday 29 May 2025 as part of Cornwall Open Studios.

There is space for several cars in the large lay-by and turning point beside the A30 signposted for Polgoon Vineyard and YHA. There are additional riverside woodland parking bays that can be used in dry weather. Follow the COS signs up the leftmost lane through tall trees. There are two approach lanes to River Song, one of which goes uphill towards the Youth Hostel and then spirals down between chalets and then bears right towards the wooden farm gate of River Song; the other route follows the river and then turns around a chalet where you bear left towards River Song, which is clearly signed on the wooden gate as well as being marked Number 11.
The lower approach lane along the river is more level than the main uphill approach lane though there are some areas where the ground may be a little uneven due to potholes and dips in the gravel. Please respect the privacy of all properties in this valley alongside River Song.
