I paint both still lifes and landscapes mostly in oils although I also love to discover new ways of working in other media.
Painting the landscape and walking in it are very much intertwined for me. In my paintings I seek to bring a sense of the atmosphere I have felt in the places I have walked through. Each painting is like a walk in itself – deciding a direction, sometimes getting lost, the experience of light falling across different textures, of color and surface.
In still lifes I am drawn to the beauty of ordinary things, of quiet contemplation, of colours that convey something wordless I wish to make appear.

Studio information
Take B3315 from Newlyn, go through Sheffield. As road drops into Lamorna valley take left turn marked Trevelloe Farm. If you get to the Lamorna Pottery you’ve gone too far. Plenty of parking.
