Katie GoddenGreen

Ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, textiles

My current research is questioning; belonging. How indigenous are you to your environment? Who belongs? Where do you belong? Where are you indigenous to?

The ancient systems of natural order are in turmoil and my practice seeks patterns to aid realignment. Can communities be preserved through crafts?

The rurality of my given environment feeds my making.

Recent prints praise the animal kingdoms. The woodblock prints are rhythmically carved and printed in thin layers of ink. The transparency of the baskets appear to make the wooden template animals glow from within.

Baskets contain, hold and protect.

Continuous experiments with fabric and stitch, clay and found objects are played out.
