I have been working with clay intermittently for many years, but only recently have I had the time ... and space in my studio up at Trencrom ... to fully embrace my passion for pottery.
Drawing inspiration from my love of cooking and travel, I mainly make rustic tableware and functional objects. My pieces are crafted through coiling, pinching or moulding techniques, with a focus on simplicity and practicality. I make items that I would love to have on my own table, with a timeless, everyday appeal. That said, more recently I have ventured into larger works, influenced by the dramatic, untamed landscape of Penwith.
My tableware is used at Blas Burgerworks in St Ives and also at Greenberry Café in Primrose Hill, London.
I work primarily with stoneware clay and, while all of my larger pieces are handbuilt, I'm continually challenging myself to improve my throwing skills!
