Belinda Latimer

Metal, Textiles, Paintings and Printmaking

An artist and maker based in the STUNNING Duchy of Cornwall, originally born and bred in Stoke-on-Trent. I felt the pull to move here in 2019, after falling in love with the area a few years before.

With a degree in metal and textiles, I now create art in a whole array of media and materials with the common gorgeous factor of COLOUR!  If it’s bright and zingy, then I am IN! ( I can be subtle too – honestly!)

It’s all about the energy and my connection to it. I need to be surrounded by the sea, sky and countryside as it seriously lifts my mood. I then channel and translate this into whichever artform I am moved to.

My work spans a variety of mediums - one week it might be all about drawing with wire or sploshing paint around, the next I could be hammering, etching and soldering copper – whatever lights me up inside.

Currently my range includes paintings, linoprints, wire fish sculptures, copper charm bangles, metal decorations and textile creations. They are characterised by bright colours and lively designs, which evoke feelings of happiness and positivity for me AND my lovely customers.

These designs are also transformed into practical and beautiful products, such as tea towels and notebooks, that allow you to carry a piece of my joyful art into your daily life.
So, take a look and see what tickles your fancy.

Studio information

Parking is available at a few places in St Austell, but I would park at White River Place. (Payment is required upon leaving the car park.)

As you leave the car park from the top floor, walk through the town, through Alymer Square and up the walkway past the row of shops on the right.

You will then be on Fore Street. Turn right and continue until you reach the church. Then, turn right and follow the footpath on the right hand side past the chemists and towards the bridal store.

My studio entrance is a single doorway, sign-posted with my name and the Open Studios sign.

The studio is on the first floor, up a straight staircase. The door will be open, so do come on in!

Unfortunately my studio is inaccessible to wheelchairs as it is reached by a staircase.

Toilets are available.

The building has other businesses in it, so please ensure that any children stay with you at all times. Thanks.
